The village of Red Rock is located north of Coffs Harbour on the central
north coast of NSW. The prominent headland is composed of very
deformed, folded and faulted rocks, amongst which is red jasper, giving
the locality its name. This geological tour is suitable for people of
all ages, and involves a pleasant walk along the headland and
neighbouring creek bank. The tour visits some spectacular, large folds,
fault planes, and some picturesque red jasper. Many unusual rocks are
examined and explained in simple terms.
